Our clean ups of the Falaise have been increasingly ambitious each year. Last year in 2021, we had both a Spring and Fall Clean Up. We recruited volunteers by asking the Westmount and Montreal West Rotary Clubs, writing emails, and posting the event on Facebook.  That year most of the Falaise was thoroughly cleaned. Before our clean ups we have  preparatory  workdays. Everyone is welcome to join us in the prep work as well as the main event. Check the Calendar for prep workdays.

Day 1: April 23 Mont St Gabriel Clean Up

Meet at the Western Entrance to the Bande Verte.

On the first day we will clean the area below St Gabriel Auto, shown as Mont St Gabriel on the Falaise map.  The Falaise's worst garbage area was used for decades as a Snow / Garbage Dump by Gabriel Auto, and has never been cleaned.  It is also the former site of a homeless man who froze to death last winter.

Day 2: Sunday April 24 Hillside beneath Super C Parking Lot Clean Up

Meet at the Falaise's Valley of the Birds. We will clean up the Super C hillside.

On the second day we will clean the hillside beneath the Super C parking lot which was completely cleaned last fall. However there continues to be a massive amount of garbage being dumped into this parking lot from cars. This area will require devoted citizens to volunteer for both Fall and Spring cleanups each year until that dumping stops.

Bring work clothes, gloves, and sturdy footwear. Spare garbage bags, water and hand tools are also useful.
